Genkas Energy Ltd has announced that Ebenezer Adjetey Sowah will assume the role of Managing Director, with the appointment taking effect on 30 September 2026.
Sowah, an energy specialist and member of the International Society of Petroleum Engineers, brings a wealth of experience in petroleum distribution, commercial operations and business management to the company’s leadership team. His background includes a tenure as Dealer Cluster Manager at Vivo Energy Ghana, where he oversaw dealer networks, commercial performance and stakeholder relations.
Educated in Aircraft Load Controlling at Emirates Aviation College, Sowah also holds expertise in business intelligence analysis and health, safety and environmental management. In his new capacity, he will steer the day‑to‑day operations of Genkas Energy’s oil and gas importation and distribution, financial management, staff supervision and regulatory compliance.
“My focus is on promoting operational excellence, strengthening business relationships and identifying opportunities for sustainable growth,” Sowah said. He added that effective leadership requires accountability, continuous improvement and practical industry knowledge to achieve lasting results.
Sowah’s responsibilities will extend to developing business opportunities, managing customer and supplier relationships, and reporting operational and financial performance to the Board. He will report to the Board through its Chairman, with authority subject to delegated powers.
The Board of Directors confirmed the appointment, with Chairman George N. Owodo and Secretary Anette Adjavon signing the appointment letter on behalf of the company.
Genkas Energy’s move is seen as a strategic step to strengthen its position in the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors, leveraging Sowah’s broad perspective on modern energy challenges.
