The Treasury auction held on Thursday saw investors tender GH¢4.27 billion for 91‑, 182‑, and 364‑day bills, yet the government accepted only GH¢3.39 billion, rejecting GH¢873.94 million in bids.
The 91‑day bill drew the strongest demand, with GH¢2.86 billion tendered and GH¢2.55 billion accepted at a yield of 4.61 %. The 182‑day bill attracted GH¢533.28 million, of which GH¢420.66 million was accepted at a 6.29 % yield. The 364‑day bill recorded GH¢873.69 million in bids, with GH¢420.24 million accepted at a 9.67 % yield.
Overall, the Treasury accepted about 79.5 % of the total bids, leaving the GH¢3.80 billion target unmet by roughly GH¢407.34 million. The rejection of bids indicates that the government chose not to accept all the funds offered by investors, even as the auction fell short of its target.
