Bono East Minister Praises Yefri SHS Project, Criticises Busunya Contractor

Regional Minister Francis Owusu Antwi visited the Nkoranza North District today to inspect ongoing GETFund projects at Yefri Senior High School and Busunya Senior High School. He expressed satisfaction with the steady progress at Yefri, noting that the new classroom and dormitory blocks would relieve the school’s overcrowding and help end the double‑track system.

The Assistant Headmaster for Domestic at Yefri, who oversees a student body of nearly 2,000, said the new facilities would provide much‑needed accommodation and a better learning environment once completed.

In contrast, the minister voiced concerns over the quality and pace of work at Busunya. He warned that any failure to meet the government’s standards would attract sanctions and pledged to keep a close eye on the contractor’s performance.

District Chief Executive Effah Patrick assured that the contractors would meet specifications and finish on schedule, and that the Assembly would continue to engage them to ensure compliance.

The minister’s tour will continue across the region, with a promise to keep contractors on their toes as the government pushes to abolish the double‑track system through massive infrastructure expansion.
