The Bank of Ghana today identified 20 mobile loan applications that are operating without the required licence or authorisation to provide digital credit services in Ghana. The flagged apps include Cascredit, Cash Future, Cash Cedi, Cashpal, Cashpal Pro, CreditGo, Funds Credit, Glow Credit, Moni Wave, MoniLend, Nova Cedi, Onua Loan, Quick Cedi, Sika Boost, Sika Credit, Sompa Loan, Sune Credit, Swift Lend, Target Credit and Zoom Advance.
In a statement, the central bank said the operations of these entities violate customer data privacy, consumer protection requirements and other regulatory standards. It is working with relevant state institutions to identify and investigate the operators and to apply appropriate enforcement measures.
The Bank of Ghana cautioned the public against engaging with the identified applications and urged consumers to report any unlicensed digital credit operations. It also warned banks, specialised deposit‑taking institutions and payment service providers not to facilitate or process transactions on behalf of unlicensed loan providers.
These actions are part of the central bank’s broader effort to sanitise Ghana’s digital credit market and protect consumers from unlicensed operators. The directive on Digital Credit Service Providers, issued in September 2025, requires entities to obtain the necessary licence or authorisation; operations without approval are in contravention of that directive.
