David Gyamfi Hat‑Trick Secures Ashantigold’s First Premier League Victory

FC Ashantigold celebrated a historic first win in the Ghana Premier League when striker David Gyamfi produced a sensational hat‑trick to defeat Vision FC 3‑1 at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi on Saturday.

Gyamfi opened the scoring in the 7th minute, calmly converting a chance to give Karim Zito’s side an early advantage. Vision FC answered swiftly, with Sheriff Mohammed Iddrisu curling a free‑kick past the Ashantigold goalkeeper to level the match.

The equaliser did little to unsettle the home side. Gyamfi restored Ashantigold’s lead before the break, striking again in the 45th minute to put the visitors in front. He added a third just before the interval, completing his hat‑trick and ensuring a commanding 3‑1 lead at half‑time.

With the win, Ashantigold claimed their first point in the league, a milestone that also makes Gyamfi the first player to score a hat‑trick in the 2026/27 Premier League season. Vision FC, who had earned a point at Port City earlier in the opening weekend, now sit on four points from two matches.

Gyamfi’s performance was a statement of intent for the club as they look to build on this breakthrough. The victory also gives Ashantigold a psychological edge as they prepare for the next round of fixtures.

As the season progresses, fans will watch to see if Gyamfi can maintain his form and whether Ashantigold can sustain the momentum gained from this landmark win.
