Aewura Arts, a female pencil artist, told Joy Learning TV’s The Career Trail that the growing use of artificial intelligence in the creative sector will not marginalise traditional artists. Instead, she believes the unique human touch, time and skill behind each original artwork will make them more prized.
Speaking on Joy News, she said, “I don’t think AI can push us out. People like authentic things. Imagine getting an art piece with the real things on it. You know the effort the person put into it. So authentic things like art pieces, people will still always go in for the real, the original piece.”
She added that over time, the cost of acquiring an original piece will rise, as the scarcity of hand‑made art becomes more apparent. “I think with time, because of AI, for you to get an original piece, it's actually going to be very expensive. So, I’m not really moved by AI. I don’t think we’re going to go out of business. If anything, we’re actually going to level up and become more expensive,” she said.
Despite her confidence, Aewura Arts does not see AI as a threat. She views the technology as a tool that can complement creative work rather than replace it. “AI is going to enhance and help the art industry I mean, we also use AI. It's a good tool. But it's not something that's going to kick the art industry out,” she highlighted.
Industry observers note that while AI can generate images quickly, the tactile quality and personal narrative of hand‑crafted art remain difficult to replicate. As demand for authenticity grows, traditional artists may find new opportunities to command higher prices and secure a niche market that values the human element.
