Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson outlined key priorities for the 2027 Budget, stressing the need for fiscal discipline, debt sustainability and stronger financial stability. Speaking on the Minister’s behalf, Director of the Financial Sector Division Louis Kwame Amo highlighted plans to entrench price stability, build Ghana’s external buffers and deepen the capital market.
These measures, he said, are designed to consolidate gains from economic stabilisation while creating a more conducive environment for long‑term investment. The government’s role, he added, is to establish conditions that enable banks to lend, businesses to expand and investors to commit capital over the long term.
“Our job is to create an environment in which banks can lend, businesses can invest and capital can take a long‑term view of Ghana,” Amo said at the commissioning of the new Absa Bank Ghana head office on Friday, September 25. He urged the private sector to leverage the improved economic environment to drive enterprise, investment and job creation, stressing that stability should translate into greater productive activity.
“Your job is to help turn the stability into enterprise, investment and jobs,” he added.
