The 6th edition of the Western Gospel Awards (WGA) has officially opened its doors for the 2026 ceremony, with organizers revealing the full list of nominees and confirming Saturday, November 14 as the date for the event. The awards will take place at the Western Serene Atlantic Hotel in Ghana, drawing gospel artistes, music executives, media personalities, clergy, industry professionals, fans and other stakeholders for a night of celebration and recognition.
Organised by Prolific GH, the WGA has become a key platform for acknowledging the talents, ministries, creatives and industry contributors who help advance gospel music, especially in the Western and Western North regions. Lead Consultant Maxwell Bills Ghansah confirmed the venue and date, stating the ceremony will bring together both established voices and emerging talents.
Renowned event host Nana Quasi‑Owusu, popularly known as PM TheFinest, has been named the official master of ceremonies for the 6th edition. He is expected to guide the proceedings as winners are announced and nominees receive accolades for their work.
Nominees span a wide range of categories, including gospel artistes, songwriters, vocalists, music events, music videos, radio and television programmes, collaborations, and more. Highlights include nominations for Western New Gospel Artiste of the Year, Western Female and Male Gospel Artiste of the Year, Western Vocal Performance of the Year, Instrumentalist of the Year, Gospel Radio/TV Show of the Year, Choir/Group of the Year, Urban/Contemporary Gospel Artiste of the Year, Best Lyrical Content, Most Popular Song, Music Video of the Year, and Best Gospel Artiste and Vocal Performance – Diaspora.
