Salma Mumin has publicly denied allegations that she was romantically linked to Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, a name that has surfaced in political circles as a potential NDC presidential hopeful. The rumours began circulating on social media in late 2025 after Afia Schwarzenegger, a well‑known media personality, named Debrah as Mumin’s boyfriend in a public statement. Mumin, who has built a career as an actress and film producer, took to Joy Prime’s Changes show to counter the claims, telling host Nikki Samonas that she has never seen, met, or run into the Chief of Staff in her life.
“Recently, Afia Schwarzenegger came out mentioning the name of Julius Debrah as my boyfriend. I’ve never seen the man before, I’ve never met him before, I’ve never run into him anywhere in my entire life but I’m being tagged that I’m dating him,” Mumin said. She added that if she had been in a serious relationship, the allegations could have ruined it, especially if she had not been able to debunk them promptly. Mumin explained that she had chosen silence in earlier years as a strategy to avoid escalating the situation, but that speaking out now has boosted her confidence.
While she maintains that some people will still believe the false claims, Mumin urges the public to speak up and defend themselves. The actress also used the opportunity to promote her upcoming film, Fighting Forces, which she says is already gaining traction thanks to its sensational trailer scenes. The movie is set to premiere on Friday, September 18, across all Silverbird Cinemas.
