During this year’s Damba Festival celebrations, Regent Nyelinbolgu Naa Dassana Andani Yakubu of Bimbilla led a health walk with chiefs, elders and residents of Nanung. The exercise aimed to strengthen the community’s physical fitness ahead of the festival’s long schedule and to foster peace and unity within the kingdom.
The regent used the walk to inspect the ongoing construction of the 24‑hour economy market in Bimbilla. He praised the contractor’s pace and quality of work, noting the project’s importance to the president and the community’s development goals.
The health walk drew traditional leaders, the Northern Regional Minister Ali Adolf Nbordiba, and other dignitaries who commended the contractor and the regent’s initiative. First Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Chief Sofo Azorka, also attended and urged Nanung’s people to collaborate for lasting peace and unity.
As the walk concluded, participants reflected on the festival’s cultural significance and the collective effort required to sustain harmony in the region.
