Gospel musician Patrick Yaw Adomako, known as P.Y. Adomako, released the single Better Ghana on Sunday, August 30, featuring Emefa and Chajay. The track goes beyond typical patriotic praise, tackling issues he says still hold the country back.
Adomako says the song is a call for a shift in attitude, urging listeners to examine their role in building the nation they want. He highlights problems such as galamsey, corruption, indiscriminate dumping, and a lack of accountability from leaders.
“A Better Ghana is not just a song, it is not just about better roads, bigger buildings or a stronger economy. It is about a better society, one where our water bodies are protected from galamsey, corruption is no longer treated as a way of life, citizens stop turning public spaces into dumping grounds, and leaders are held accountable,” he told a media outlet.
The musician also turns his attention to the church, warning that some religious leaders exploit vulnerable followers. “It is a Ghana where pastors do not deceive vulnerable church members with fabricated prophecies, where faith is not exploited for personal gain, and where truth matters,” he added.
Adomako stresses that change cannot come from leaders alone; ordinary citizens must also take responsibility and reject harmful practices. He added that the song is not merely a catalogue of problems but a guide on how to create a better Ghana.
“It is not just about talking about the problems; it is about advising ourselves on what we can do differently to make Ghana a better place,” he told a showbiz interview on September 7.
He encourages listeners to hear the track, available across social media and digital platforms, and to let its message resonate with all Ghanaians.
