Prophet Jimmy Alla‑Mensah will commemorate 20 years in prophetic ministry on Sunday, November 8, at House of Divine Glory Ministry International in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The event will feature themes of “20 Years of Grace,” “20 Years of Ministry” and “20 Years of God’s Faithfulness.”
Since answering a calling in November 2006, the Ghanaian preacher has endured demanding seasons, personal sacrifices and hard lessons that have tested his faith, leadership and relationships. He began without formal prophetic training, ministry experience or a seasoned mentor, learning instead through prayer, Scripture study and the realities of ministering to people in crisis.
One of the most painful chapters was the decline of a church he had built, which fell from about 300 members to roughly 10. The loss forced him to confront questions about failure and the true measure of success. “The success of a calling cannot be measured exclusively by the number of people standing beside you,” he said.
Beyond public preaching, his ministry has demanded nights of prayer, long counselling sessions and emotional support for those facing sickness, broken relationships, financial hardship and spiritual struggles. He says the joy and the sacrifices coexist, and he finds fulfilment in helping people regain hope and strength.
Reflecting on two decades of service, Jimmy advises his younger self to remain humble, acknowledge mistakes, rest, care for health and protect family. “Above all, remember that you are a human being before you are a minister,” he says.
Born again on April 14, 2004, Jimmy transitioned from a career in network and security engineering, including work with Verizon and Lockheed Martin, to prophetic ministry. The anniversary celebration will close with the words of 1 Samuel 7:12, underscoring God’s faithfulness over the years.
