The National Service Authority (NSA) has opened the first phase of its medical screening for National Service Personnel (NSP) who have expressed interest in the Basic Military Training Programme. The exercise will run from Monday, November 2, 2026, to Saturday, November 7, 2026.
According to a notice issued on November 1, the screening is part of the preparatory process to assess the eligibility and medical fitness of prospective participants before the training commences. The NSA has urged all pre‑selected personnel to note the dates and make the necessary arrangements to attend.
NSA added that further details – including designated screening centres, reporting times and other requirements – would be communicated through the appropriate channels.

"The exercise forms part of the preparatory processes to assess the eligibility and medical fitness of prospective participants ahead of the commencement of the Basic Military Training," the notice stated.
Participants will undergo a series of medical examinations designed to ensure they meet the physical standards required for basic military training. Those who fail to meet the criteria may be redirected to alternative service options or advised to re‑apply in a future cohort.
The NSA’s initiative follows a broader effort to streamline the National Service recruitment process, aiming to reduce delays and improve the overall quality of service provision across Ghana.
Those who have not yet received a notification are advised to contact their local NSA office for clarification. The Authority will continue to update the public on the progress of the screening exercise through its official channels.
