Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, the 25‑year‑old Member of Parliament for Asawase, announced today that he will guarantee every child in the constituency has access to quality education, regardless of the obstacles they may face.
During a ceremony where he joined Municipal Chief Executives Ben Abdallah Alhassan of Asokore Mampong and Abubakar Sadique of Old Tafo, along with education officials and traditional leaders, Muntaka commissioned new classroom facilities at Asokore Mampong R/C and Aboabo Middle B schools. He said the infrastructure projects undertaken over the years are designed to create opportunities for children to receive quality education and improve their lives and those of their families.
“My target is to ensure that no child is left behind. All the infrastructure we have been providing over the years is aimed at ensuring that every child has the greatest opportunity to make a difference, not only in their own lives but also in the lives of their families,” the MP said.
Muntaka highlighted the transformation he has witnessed since first taking office, noting that many young people from Asawase now work as doctors, nurses, teachers and other professionals. He added that while roads and markets remain important, education must continue to receive significant attention.
To motivate teachers and promote excellence, he announced plans for an annual Municipal Teachers’ Awards Scheme that will recognise and reward outstanding educators. He urged students to stay focused, disciplined and away from drugs.
As the ceremony concluded, Muntaka reiterated that no matter what development projects are undertaken, the priority must be to provide the best opportunities for education in the constituency.
