Karpowership Ghana announced today that it has awarded a total of GH¢210,550 in scholarships to 63 engineering students at Takoradi Technical University (TTU) for the 2026/2027 academic year. The funding will help cover tuition fees for students in mechanical, electrical, civil and, for the first time, petroleum engineering programmes.
Managing Director Ing. Oscar Kojo Amonoo‑Neizer presented the cheques to the recipients and highlighted that the scholarship scheme, launched in 2022, has already helped 78 students graduate. He said the initiative “goes beyond financial assistance” and is an investment in Ghana’s future engineering and energy sectors.

He added that the inclusion of petroleum engineering reflects Karpowership’s commitment to developing specialised skills for the country’s evolving energy industry. The company also noted its all‑female internship, mentorship and capacity‑building programmes have reached more than 500 young women, underscoring a vision to increase female participation in technical fields.
TTU Pro Vice‑Chancellor Prof. Ebenezer Boakye expressed gratitude, recalling how a scholarship enabled his own studies and urging current scholars to work hard to justify the investment. Scholarship Secretariat officer Olivia Agyeman and former beneficiary Mavis Leagbe also praised the programme, encouraging recipients to excel academically and conduct themselves with integrity.

Ing. Amonoo‑Neizer said Karpowership will continue to strengthen its partnership with TTU, seeking ways to link academic learning with industry experience and to mentor future scholars. The company views investment in education as a cornerstone of Ghana’s industrial growth and energy security.
Looking ahead, the scholarship recipients are encouraged to embrace innovation, uphold high standards of professionalism and make the most of the opportunity, the Managing Director urged.
