Senator Ned Nwoko has publicly appealed to the public, especially fans and friends of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, to give the actress space to recover and to stop spreading false reports about her.
In a statement posted on his Instagram account, the senator expressed concern over fabricated death announcements, misleading reports and hurtful content circulating about Daniels, urging the public to refrain from amplifying such posts.
He added that the appeal was not only for Daniels but also for their children, who he said deserve to see their mother supported and given every opportunity to recover.
“I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space,” Nwoko said.
The senator highlighted that Daniels has been through a lot and needs love, support and an opportunity to heal rather than public criticism.
He referenced a video Daniels shared on her birthday, which offered a glimpse into some of the health challenges she had been dealing with, and warned that her situation should not be an opportunity for judgment or vilification.
Nwoko said that concerns about her welfare had contributed to the decision to bring aspects of their private situation into the public domain, but that her well‑being had always been important to him.
He expressed particular concern over reports falsely announcing the actress’s death and other claims about her health and personal circumstances, stating that these posts are “deeply distressing” and add to the burden she is already carrying.
“We are documenting these publications, and anyone found responsible will be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels,” he warned.
The senator added that Daniels deserved the opportunity to recover without being subjected to fabricated reports and renewed public scrutiny.
