GES Sets Nov 16 Deadline for Payment of Outstanding Promotion Arrears

The Ghana Education Service (GES) announced on Tuesday, 27 October that it will pay all outstanding promotion arrears to affected staff by 16 November 2026. The payment is expected to be processed after the Controller and Accountant‑General’s Department reopens its payment system on 28 October, allowing the necessary data to be entered.

GES said the delay stemmed from the closure of the Controller and Accountant‑General’s payment system during the October salary cycle, which overlapped with the period when promotion arrears were to be recorded. The Service assured staff that any discrepancies found in the October 16 payments would be corrected.

The Service expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and asked regional directors to inform all affected employees of the new schedule.
