On Monday, September 14, 2026, Richard Nii Armah Quaye, President of RNAQ Holdings, launched the Ga‑Dangbe Scholarship Scheme at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra. The programme aims to support brilliant but financially disadvantaged young people from Ga‑Dangbe communities who face barriers to higher education.
Speaking at the event, Quaye said the decision to establish the scholarship was inspired by his interactions with youth across the Ga‑Dangbe area. “We’re gathered here today because, through my interactions with the youth in the Ga‑Adangbe communities, they have told me that one of the reasons why our communities are not progressing is because many young people do not have access to higher education,” he said.
He noted that while some young people choose not to pursue formal education, financial difficulties remain a major obstacle for many talented but needy students. The scholarship scheme is therefore intended to give these students the opportunity to continue their studies and improve their prospects.
Quaye also called for greater unity among Ga‑Dangbe traditional leaders and the people, arguing that disunity has contributed to the community’s underdevelopment. He urged the public to support traditional leaders who are ready to work toward unity, adding, “Our Chiefs are ready for unity. Let us support them in order to make Ga‑Dangbe great again.”
The launch brought together the Ga Mantse, HRH Nii Teiko Tsuru II, traditional leaders, politicians, footballers and musicians, including Shatta Wale and the Tagoe Sisters, who joined in support of the initiative.
What follows is a series of calls to action from community leaders and the public to contribute resources, skills and influence to build a stronger, more unified Ga‑Dangbe community and to ensure that future generations can access the education they deserve.
