The Madina Divisional Police Command arrested two executives of the Botwe Old Town Taxi Rank on September 3, 2026, for allegedly plotting to murder Esther Danquah, a resident of Nanakrom and a susu collector at the rank.
The suspects, Eric Tettey, the former chairman, and Abubakar Altine, the current chairman, are alleged to have hired two armed men to carry out the killing. Preliminary investigations suggest that Tettey owed Danquah money and wanted to avoid repayment.
Police intelligence about the plot surfaced about two weeks ago. Acting on the information, a team led by Deputy Superintendent Maxwell Oppong, Madina Divisional Crime Officer, executed an operation around 1930 hours. The squad, which included Detective Chief Inspectors David Kuavoga and Churchill Odzeyem, Detective Inspector Valeria Adegu, and Detective Lance Corporal Isaac Aboagye, laid an ambush and detained the suspects while they were allegedly preparing the murder.
The two men remain in police custody to assist with the investigation. They will be arraigned once the investigations are completed.
