Patrick Boamah, the Member of Parliament for Okaikoi Central, called on residents to adopt a strong maintenance culture for public facilities after commissioning an AstroTurf at Tesano on Sunday, September 20.
The new pitch is intended to give young people in the area an alternative venue for recreational activities, reducing the need to use the Police Training Depot pitch.
Boamah said users would be required to make a modest contribution toward the facility’s upkeep to ensure its sustainability. “Anyone who will be interested in using the place will have to pay something small for its maintenance so that we can sustain the place for a very long time,” he explained.
He also appealed to community members to take responsibility for protecting the pitch and keeping it in good condition. “I will thank the community too. All we ask for is a good maintenance culture,” Boamah added.
Residents can look forward to a well‑maintained recreational space that will serve Tesano’s youth for years to come.
