Africa Magic Showcase will air a documentary celebrating the life and career of veteran actor Sir Olu Jacobs, who died on 16 September 2026.
Directed by Femi Odugbemi and produced by Zuri 24 Media, the film traces Jacobs’ journey through theatre, television and film, highlighting the impact he made on Nigeria’s entertainment industry over several decades.
The late actor was widely regarded as one of the most influential figures of his generation, known for his versatility, depth and commitment to the craft. He also helped shape the Nigerian acting industry and inspire a new generation of performers.
The documentary brings together people who worked with Jacobs, offering personal reflections on his career and the mark he left on the industry. Notable actors and industry figures such as Joke Silva, Afolabi Adesanya, Taiwo Ajai‑Lycett, Richard Mofe‑Damijo, Patience Ozokwor, Kate Henshaw and Jahman Anikulapo contribute to the film.
Through their stories and recollections, viewers are invited to remember Jacobs not only for his memorable characters but also for the discipline, professionalism and influence that defined his career.
The film will premiere on Africa Magic Showcase on Friday 25 September at 6:35 pm. It will be rebroadcast on Saturday 26 September at 10:30 pm, Monday 28 September at 4:30 pm and Wednesday 30 September at 2:35 pm, giving audiences across Africa Magic a chance to revisit the career of one of Nollywood’s most celebrated veterans.
