Tottenham Hotspur and Brazil striker Richarlison are in a standoff over the final nine months of the player’s contract, with the club and his representatives still negotiating a resolution. The dispute follows the collapse of Richarlison’s proposed move to Everton, which had been expected to net the club £35 million.

Sources say the forward is keen to be released from the remainder of his deal and is exploring other options, including a return to Brazil with Vasco de Gama. He has been left out of Tottenham’s Premier League squad after the Everton transfer fell through.

While Richarlison hopes to reach an agreement that would allow him to leave the club without a fee, Tottenham is not considering that option as realistic. The club holds a 12‑month option to extend his contract until the end of next season, but is unwilling to negotiate a settlement over the remaining term.

As the negotiations continue, the forward’s future remains uncertain. Tottenham’s management will need to decide whether to honour the contract extension or seek a mutually acceptable exit for the striker.
