Priscilla Ofori, better known as Odo Broni, handed over roughly GH¢63,000 to the Child Health Department of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. The donation was made in remembrance of late highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, on what would have been his 62nd birthday.
Initially the gift was earmarked for children born on the musician’s birthday, but during a visit to the department the singer and her team encountered critically ill patients who needed financial help. They therefore broadened the gesture to include selected patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the Child Health Daycare Oncology Unit and the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Hospital officials said the total amount was about GH¢63,000, with individual allocations varying to meet each child’s needs. The cash was received by the department’s Administrator, Benjamin Nkansah, and Chief Nursing Officer, Evelyn Kumah.
The Child Health Department thanked Odo Broni for choosing to honour Daddy Lumba’s birthday by supporting children and families during difficult moments in their healthcare journey.
