Nigeria and the United States signed a framework agreement on Thursday to deepen U.S. investment in the country’s mining sector, Dele Alake, Nigeria’s solid minerals minister, confirmed.
The accord aims to create a more conducive environment for foreign investors, particularly from the United States, to explore and develop Nigeria’s rich mineral resources.
Alake emphasized that the partnership will focus on regulatory reforms, transparency, and joint ventures that could unlock significant economic benefits for both nations.
While the specifics of the investment mechanisms remain under discussion, the agreement marks a strategic step toward boosting Nigeria’s mining output and diversifying its economy.
