NDC Disqualifies Dzifa Gunu From La Dadekotopon Secretary Race

The National Democratic Congress has formally disqualified Dzifa Gunu, CEO of Ghana Digital Centres Limited, from running for the La Dadekotopon Constituency Secretary position. Acting Director of Elections and IT, Mahdi Gibril, said the regional elections committee had sent Gunu a written notice of disqualification.

Gibril explained that party guidelines require a candidate to resign from any current office at least six months before filing a nomination. Gunu had not complied, and although he appeared before the vetting committee, he failed to provide evidence of his resignation when requested.

Guni has appealed the decision, seeking to overturn the disqualification. The NDC announced that the online portal for submitting nomination forms for the constituency elections will open on Tuesday, October 6, and remain open until October 8.
