Defending Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC turned the tables on Basake Holy Stars to notch their first league win of the season, a 4-1 triumph in the Western derby on Sunday.
Basake took an early lead when Patrick Ocran scored in the 14th minute, but Medeama responded with a rapid comeback that saw them claim all three points.
Prince Owusu equalised for the Mauve and Yellows in the 26th minute, followed by Emmanuel Annor’s goal a minute later to level the score. Kelvin Nkrumah added a third in the 30th minute, and Kingsley Braye completed a remarkable first‑half blitz, sealing the win.
The emphatic victory provides a much-needed boost for Medeama after a rocky start to the campaign, reinforcing their status as title contenders.
