The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) carried out a mass‑casualty road crash simulation at Wa Regional Hospital, bringing together the Wa Municipal Fire Station, Ghana Health Service (GHS) and National Ambulance Service to evaluate their readiness and coordination.
Led by ADO I James, the exercise recreated a head‑on collision with multiple casualties, allowing the three agencies to practice teamwork, communication and joint response under a realistic scenario.
In a Facebook post, GNFS highlighted that the drill focused on assessing response procedures and identifying areas for improvement in handling major incidents involving several victims.
The simulation is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination among emergency services and improve preparedness for large‑scale emergencies in the Upper West Region.
