The Emmy Awards, held on Monday in Los Angeles, saw a host of television titles take home top honours. ‘Widow’s Bay’, ‘The Pitt’ and ‘DTF St. Louis’ were among the biggest winners, with the majority of high‑profile categories reserved for the main ceremony after earlier awards at the Creative Arts Emmys.
Matthew Rhys emerged as the night’s standout, becoming the first actor to win two lead acting awards in the same year. He took home Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for ‘Widow’s Bay’ and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for ‘The Beast in Me’. Jean Smart extended her record with a fifth consecutive win in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category for ‘Hacks’. Rhea Seehorn captured Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for ‘Pluribus’, while Noah Wyle claimed Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for ‘The Pitt’. Sally Field won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for ‘Remarkably Bright Creatures’.
Other notable wins included Tom Pelphrey and Allison Janney taking Outstanding Supporting Actor and Actress in a Drama Series for ‘The Pitt’ and ‘The Diplomat’ respectively. Stephen Root, Kate O’Flynn and David Harbour secured supporting awards in comedy and limited series categories, with Linda Cardellini also earning a supporting actress nod for ‘DTF St. Louis’. The ceremony also honoured reality competition, talk series, television movies and variety specials, with ‘The Traitors’, ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ and the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show featuring Bad Bunny among the recipients.
