Prof. Dr Grace Ayensu‑Danquah, the Deputy Minister for Health, addressed the closing ceremony of the 2026 Military Nightingales’ Week Celebration on September 17, urging military nurses and midwives to maintain compassion, pursue professional excellence and remain committed to service “by land, sea, and air.”
The week‑long event highlighted professional development, honoured outstanding service and recognised the contributions of both serving and retired military nurses and midwives to Ghana’s healthcare system.
During her speech, Ayensu‑Danquah stressed the value of drawing on the experience of retired personnel to prepare the next generation of health professionals and to strengthen ongoing professional development efforts.
She congratulated awardees and honourees for their achievements, praised the organisers, the leadership of the 37 Military Hospital, sponsors, partners and personnel whose efforts ensured the celebration’s success, and assured the Ghana Armed Forces Medical Services of the Ministry’s continued support for the welfare, training and professional advancement of military nurses and midwives.
Ayensu‑Danquah then officially closed the 2026 Military Nightingales’ Week Celebration, calling on all military nurses and midwives to remain committed to compassionate service and professional excellence.
