Dominant Performance at SEC Hall 5
Ghanaian boxer Precious Akai Nettey has been eliminated from the Commonwealth Games following a tough three-round battle at SEC Hall 5. Facing off against Marvin Clair of Mauritius in the men’s Light Middleweight (-70kg) event, Nettey was unable to break through his opponent's defense, falling to a unanimous decision.
All five judges scored the bout 30–27 in favor of Clair across the three rounds, reflecting the Mauritian's control throughout the contest.
Medal Guaranteed for Mauritius, Heartbreak for Ghana
The victory secures at least a bronze medal for Clair, who now advances to the semi-final stage of the tournament.
For Nettey, the loss brings a disappointing end to his Commonwealth campaign:
