Chief Justice Paul Baffoe‑Bonnie addressed senior high school students in Tamale on 2 November 2026, urging them to stand against bullying, discrimination and injustice. The call came during the inauguration of Justice Clubs in seven schools across the Northern and North East Regions, including Savelugu Senior High School, Presbyterian Senior High School, Tamale, St Charles Minor Seminary Senior High School, Tamale Girls Senior High School, Tamale Senior High School, Dagbon State Technical Senior High School and Orange Girls at Walewale.
The ceremony, themed “Cybersecurity and Emerging Trends: Empowering the Youth in Today’s Digital Era,” also saw the swearing‑in of elected club executives. Baffoe‑Bonnie stressed that the promotion of justice should not rest solely with judges and lawyers but must begin with individuals, especially young people, through their conduct at home, in schools and within their communities.
He explained that justice involves protecting the vulnerable, safeguarding the innocent and holding those in power accountable. The Chief Justice encouraged students to demonstrate fairness in everyday actions, to refuse to bully weaker peers, to respect differences and to speak out against wrongdoing.
Addressing the rise of misinformation, Baffoe‑Bonnie warned students against spreading false information on social media and urged them to verify facts before sharing or making allegations. He challenged the newly sworn‑in club executives to view their roles as opportunities to serve rather than to exercise authority, emphasizing that true leadership is measured by the number of people who benefit from one’s service.
The Chief Justice also called on students to reject gender discrimination and stereotypes, urging female students not to let societal expectations limit their ambitions. He concluded that the fight against injustice begins with the young, who must lead with honesty, humility and accountability.
Moving forward, the Justice Clubs will work to embed these values in school life, fostering a culture of respect and integrity that extends beyond the classroom. The initiative is expected to strengthen community ties and promote a safer, more inclusive environment for all students.
