Bimbilla SHS Staff Fear for Lives After Former Students Threaten Attack Over WASSCE Results

In Bimbilla, a senior high school in Ghana’s Northern Region, the headmaster and staff have expressed fear for their safety after former students allegedly threatened to attack the school and destroy its property over the recently released WASSCE results.

According to the school, an audio clip that has circulated on a group platform contains the ex‑students claiming that school authorities prevented them from engaging in examination malpractice, a factor they blame for their mass failure. They are said to have threatened to retaliate by harming staff members and damaging school property.

The headmaster has called for immediate security protection, stating that the lives of staff are at risk. Police have been notified and have since increased surveillance and security presence on the school campus.

Authorities are investigating the threats and are working to ensure the safety of the school community while addressing the concerns raised by the former students.
