Samuel Atta Akyea, the lawyer for former National Signals Bureau Director‑General Kwabena Adu‑Boahene, has publicly denied accusations that he has abandoned his client in the ongoing NSB trial.
In a statement dated 10 September 2026, Atta Akyea described the circulating social media posts as “wretched and vile propaganda” and refuted claims that he had withdrawn from the case.
The lawyer said the rumors stem from the prosecution’s allegation that a document used by the defence was fake. He maintained that the disputed document was admitted into evidence without objection before Justice Francis Apangabuno Achibanga, an additional High Court judge.
“I cannot abandon or disown my client,” Atta Akyea said. He added that his legal team was preparing a “very solid and credible submission of no case.”
Atta Akyea urged that matters of evidence and law be decided in court rather than on social media, noting that the case had “launched on the platform of media trial, where lies sell.” He reiterated the defence’s commitment to challenging the allegations against Adu‑Boahene, Angela Adjei Boateng and Advantage Solutions Ltd.
He described the prosecution’s claims as “sordid” and expressed confidence that the defence’s submission would refute the allegations.
