In a packed session at KNUST Sarah Mensah Hall, Aisha Bengai, CEO of BenGuy Imports, spoke to more than 1,000 young founders, students and business enthusiasts about building wealth through importation and entrepreneurship. The event, part of the second‑year Konnected Minds LIVE series, carried the theme “Think Big, Build Bigger.”
Bengai challenged the common excuse that import markets are overcrowded, stating, “There is no saturated business; just position yourself well.” She argued that competition is inevitable, but differentiation is the key to success. “Success lies not in avoiding competition, but in differentiating clearly and intentionally,” she added.

Focusing on customer relationships, Bengai highlighted a frequently overlooked asset: “Every customer is a working billboard, so treat them well.” She explained that consistent quality service turns customers into unpaid marketers, strengthening brand trust and visibility. Concluding, she urged entrepreneurs to monetize their expertise: “Make money off what you know—your knowledge pays.”
The session stood out among several at the event, which brought together entrepreneurs and investors for an afternoon of grounded business insights. The programme was hosted by Derrick Abaitey, founder of Konnected House and creator of the Konnected Minds Podcast.
