Ablakwa Donates Bicycles to 100 North Tongu Day Students

MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa presented bicycles to 100 newly enrolled day students in North Tongu on Tuesday, marking the start of his annual support for freshly admitted senior high school pupils in the constituency.

The donation is part of a broader package that saw all 2,269 new SHS students receive mattresses, chop boxes and exercise books. Female students also received sanitary pads and other hygiene items.

Speaking after the hand‑over, Ablakwa said the programme was a success and that he was pleased to keep a tradition that ensures financial circumstances do not bar students from beginning secondary education with essential items.

“This year all 2,269 students received chop boxes, mattresses and exercise books,” he added. “I also donated bicycles to all 100 newly enrolled day students.”

He urged the pupils to take their studies seriously, saying, “Go make us proud.”

The initiative is expected to improve commuting ease for day‑students and support their academic focus.
