Tottenham Hotspur fought back from a 10‑man disadvantage to earn a 1‑1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday. In the 73rd minute, Bryan Mbeumo broke the deadlock for the visitors, but five minutes later Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off after headbutting Luke Shaw following a reckless challenge.
With ten men, Spurs struggled until the final minute of added time when captain Dominic Solanke lifted a cross from Sandro Tonali and nodded the ball into the back of the net, salvaging a point for the North London club.
Tottenham remain winless in the Premier League, sitting in the relegation zone with just three points from six games. Manchester United, who have only one victory this season, also continue a shaky start to the campaign.
The match added to United’s woes, as they have dropped points in two consecutive games against teams reduced to 10 men.
