Paul Pogba’s difficult return to football has suffered another major setback, with AS Monaco moving to terminate his contract after just over a year at the club.
According to reports from French outlet Nice-Matin, Monaco informed the 33-year-old midfielder several weeks ago of its intention to end his contract and have now begun working towards a mutual termination.
The development comes after Pogba suffered another injury setback during Monaco’s pre-season training camp in England.
The former Manchester United and Juventus star reportedly sustained a left-thigh injury during a training session, further complicating his attempts to regain full fitness.
However, reports indicate that Monaco’s decision to end Pogba’s time at the club was made before the latest injury, meaning the setback was not the sole reason behind the decision.
