On Friday, 9 October 2026, Learn Deutsch Limited inaugurated a German‑language training and ÖSD examination centre in East Legon, Accra. The ceremony was hosted by founder and CEO Tracey Acquah‑Meyer and drew diplomatic representatives, government officials, traditional leaders, international development organisations and educational stakeholders.

Representatives from the embassies of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the Ministry of Education, the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA), the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Weltwärts and the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana (AHK) were in attendance. AHK’s Head of Delegation, Dr Michael Blank, spoke on the link between language skills and workforce development.

The highlight was the unveiling of the first ÖSD (Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch) Examination Centre in Ghana. ÖSD offers internationally recognised certification across levels A1 to C2 under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The exams are independent of any course and are accepted by German‑speaking universities, immigration authorities and employers.

For Ghanaian students, professionals and families, the centre provides a new route to qualifications needed for university admission, vocational training, family reunification and residence in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. ÖSD certificates are also recognised by institutions in other countries, depending on the purpose and level required.

Learn Deutsch has scheduled its first examinations from 30 November to 4 December 2026 at the new facility. The centre will also develop a Ghana‑Germany Educational and Cultural Exchange Tour to expose learners to German universities, vocational institutions and industry.

With operations in Accra and Kumasi, Learn Deutsch continues to expand access to German language education and international cooperation across Ghana.
