Seventeen‑year‑old Priscilla Nana Ama Samson, who lives with cerebral palsy, has resumed senior high school after a nationwide fundraising effort sparked by JoyNews listeners.
Priscilla had worried that her mother could not afford the basic items listed in her school prospectus, a concern that threatened to keep the student at home.
JoyNews highlighted her plight, prompting an overwhelming response from the public. The campaign has since raised approximately GH¢40,000, covering the costs of school supplies and other necessities.
With the funds secured, Priscilla has re‑entered the classroom and begun a new chapter of her education alongside her peers.
The donation has also eased the financial burden on her mother, who had struggled to meet the demands of sending her daughter back to school.
