The promotions form part of efforts by the Police Service to recognise officers who have distinguished themselves through professionalism, commitment and outstanding service.

The Ghana Police Service announced the development in a social media post, highlighting the IGP’s decision to reward personnel whose work has contributed positively to policing and public safety.

The beneficiaries include officers who have demonstrated exceptional commitment in the discharge of their responsibilities, reinforcing the importance of merit and professionalism within the Service.

The move is expected to motivate other personnel to maintain high standards of discipline and service as the Ghana Police Service continues its efforts to improve public confidence and strengthen law enforcement.

IGP Christian Tetteh Yohunu, who assumed office in March 2025, has repeatedly stressed the importance of professional policing and effective service delivery.

The Ghana Police Service remains Ghana’s principal law enforcement agency and operates under the Ministry of the Interior.

The 25 personnel are expected to continue their duties in their respective areas following their elevation.

The Ghana Police Service has described such recognition as an important part of encouraging personnel who go above and beyond in the line of duty.
