Ferran Torres opened the scoring for Paris St‑Germain with a hat‑trick in a 4‑2 Champions League win over Slovan Bratislava on Tuesday. The Spanish World Cup winner, who joined PSG from Barcelona in the summer, scored his first goal in the 17th minute, following a rebound from a Nuno Mendes effort that hit the post.
Ousmane Dembele had already put PSG in front with two goals in the first six minutes, the first coming from a deflected cross by Dro Fernandez and the second a header from Dembele after a cross from Dembele’s own corner. Dembele then set up Torres for his second, delivering a teasing cross into the six‑yard box that left Torres with a tap‑in at the near post.
Torres added a second two minutes after the break, lashing home after a clever run and lay‑off by Maghnes Akliouche. He completed his hat‑trick by turning in Dembele’s corner from inside the penalty area. Suleiman Camara scored a consolation goal for Slovan, while Fabian Ruiz added a late goal for PSG, a much‑needed performance as the club has yet to win a Ligue 1 match this season.
Slovan, managed by former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, were punished for playing out from the back early in the game. Despite sitting 13th in the French league, PSG’s emphatic win in Europe should boost confidence as they aim for a Champions League three‑peat.
