Ghana’s U‑20 Women’s national team, the Black Princesses, are tightening their attacking play as they prepare to face South Korea in the U‑20 Women’s World Cup.
Coach Charles Sampson admitted that the side struggled to score in their opening match, a 3‑0 defeat to Ecuador in Poland, and that confidence in the final third must improve.
“We have always been good to go. We work on the last third all the time, we just need to give them more confidence in it,” Sampson said. “That’s why we train them every day in it to score more goals and get confident, and that’s what we’ve done today.”
The coach stressed that the training focus on finishing is aimed at turning the team’s clinical ability against South Korea, hoping to revive Ghana’s campaign.
He remains optimistic that the daily work in training will translate into a sharper attacking performance when the Black Princesses return to action.
