DTI‑A Scholarship Programme Reaches 70 Beneficiaries in Ghana and Uganda

Drive to Inspire‑Africa (DTI‑A), in partnership with the Sanjeev Mansotra Foundation, has awarded 20 new scholarships, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 70 since the programme began in 2024. The awards cover students in Ghana and Uganda, and the initiative has expanded to include young men alongside the original focus on young women.

Founder Nana Adjoa Hackman said the growth was driven by strategic partnerships and sustained support. “We started with 17 students. I’m happy to say that today we have 70 students on our scholarship programme in Ghana and Uganda. We started awarding young women, but now we’ve opened it up to young men as well,” she told reporters.

The partnership with the Sanjeev Mansotra Foundation, signed earlier this year, will support 20 students in accessing tertiary education. The first 10 scholarships were awarded earlier, with the latest ceremony marking the presentation of the remaining 10.

Hackman added that the programme now has an international component, allowing qualified beneficiaries to apply for scholarships at Sterling University’s campus in the United Arab Emirates. The organisation’s focus is on sustainability, ensuring students have the peace of mind to study without fear of being left behind mid‑programme.

In addition to tuition and accommodation, scholarship recipients receive laptops and mentorship opportunities. The mentorship initiative links students with professionals across 27 African countries and seven other nations, providing guidance, exposure and cross‑cultural learning.

Founder of the Sanjeev Mansotra Foundation, Sanjeev Mansotra, expressed confidence that the scholars will excel academically and build successful careers, noting the programme’s vision for Ghana: “Every capable child, regardless of circumstance, can pursue its ambitions and return value to the community.”

For the current academic year, DTI‑A has awarded 30 scholarships, underscoring its commitment to expanding access to higher education and supporting young people to achieve their academic and career ambitions.
