The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) blamed a fire that scorched a high‑tension pole behind the Quality Foam Company in Sokoban Ampeyoo for a power outage that has left several communities without electricity.

In a notice issued Saturday, October 10, 2026, ECG’s Ashanti West Region listed Sokoban, Ampeyoo, Asaago, Apaaso and surrounding areas among the affected communities.

ECG said its engineers were working to rectify the fault and restore supply to the disrupted areas. The company apologised to customers for the inconvenience and confirmed that efforts were underway to resolve the problem.
