Ghanaian gospel icon Alex Acheampong unveiled his newest single, “Nyame Baako Pɛ (Only One God),” featuring powerhouse vocalist Obaapa Christie. The track will be available on all major digital streaming platforms from Friday, October 9, 2026.
Described as an anthem of faith, unity and divine supremacy, the song blends traditional Ghanaian gospel rhythms with a polished, dance‑ready beat. Rooted in Akan, the title translates to “Only One God,” a message Acheampong says will uplift believers facing life’s toughest trials.
In a statement, Acheampong noted, “I know this song will uplift those facing steep hurdles in their Christian journey—especially those tempted to yield to family pressures or turn to lesser deities out of sheer desperation. Always remember: there is only ONE GOD, and He remains sovereign on the throne.”
He praised Christie’s contribution, saying, “Having my sister Obaapa Christie on this project is a tremendous blessing. Her distinct vocal command and anointed presence infuse the song with a level of grace, power, and authenticity that only she can deliver.”
The track was produced by Dan Bassey, whose international‑grade production turns the single into a cross‑cultural masterpiece suitable for local churches and global listeners alike.
Acheampong also highlighted his ongoing philanthropic work through the Alex Acheampong Foundation, which supplies neonatal incubators and medical equipment to health facilities across Ghana.
Fans can look forward to the song’s premiere on streaming services and to Acheampong’s flagship Emmanuel Praise Concert, slated for Sunday, December 27, 2026, in Kumasi.
