Ghanaian filmmaker Nicholas “Big Ghun” Nartey’s Vibes The Movie was announced as a nominee in five categories at the 2026 Regal Film Festival and Awards (REFFA) on Friday, October 9, 2026, at the Accra Marriott Hotel. The National Film Authority highlighted the event as a celebration of African stories, talent and creativity.
The PB Studios Africa production is up for Best Comedy Film, Best Ghanaian Film, Best Debut Film, Achievement in Sound and Achievement in Soundtrack. Nartey himself is named in the Best Debut Film, Achievement in Sound and Achievement in Soundtrack categories.
Vibes The Movie, written and directed by Big Ghun, follows two friends who flee low‑paying, humiliating jobs and stumble into a series of unpredictable business ventures. The film blends comedy, rap and emotional drama to explore friendship, ambition and the pressures of building a better life.
The cast features Big Ghun, Jeffrey Nortey, Clemento Suarez, Aaron Adatsi, Feli Nuna, Giovani Caleb and Krymi Music, among others. The story expands the world of Obolo Tui and Lil Pui into a feature‑length narrative rooted in Ghanaian life.

REFFA’s 2026 theme, “Reimagining Africa: Stories beyond Borders,” focuses on connecting African stories with wider audiences. The five nominations add to the film’s growing list of international recognitions, following an Outstanding Achievement Award at the February 2026 American Motion Pictures Festival and a Best Comic Film win at the 2026 Ghana Comedy Awards.
Vibes The Movie was also nominated for Best African Film and Best Ghallywood Film at the 2026 Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival in Canada. The film is now available on Amazon Prime Video in the United States and the United Kingdom, with a wider rollout expected.
With its expanding reach beyond Ghana, Big Ghun and PB Studios Africa continue to position Vibes The Movie as a standout representation of contemporary Ghanaian cinema on the global stage.
