Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie and his management team visited the offices of Mobile Money FinTech (MMF) Limited on 30 September to discuss a partnership that extends beyond a one‑off concert sponsorship.

The meeting, held ahead of this year’s Rapperholic concert in Kumasi, aimed to strengthen ties between the two brands and explore joint projects that align with each party’s objectives.

“For a long time there has been a gap between the corporate and entertainment worlds,” Sarkodie said. “I’m not here in the usual way where we get sponsorship for our show and that’s it. I’m actually here myself because I think it goes beyond just coming in here to support us.”

He added that the partnership should create value for both sides, rather than simply handing over money or talent without a reciprocal benefit. “Today’s conversation, to me, is more about what we could do together and not just limited to Rapperholic,” he said.

MMF Chief Executive Officer Shaibu Haruna explained that the fintech company sees the entertainment industry as a key platform for reaching and educating the masses about financial inclusion. He noted that music, as a universal language, can help promote MMF’s services to millions of Ghanaians.

Haruna said, “We have developed solutions that solve problems in terms of including the masses in Ghana’s financial ecosystem. And you are also connected with these customers.” He praised artistes for their role in showcasing Ghana globally, especially outside football.

The two sides agreed to explore collaborative initiatives that could benefit audiences and business goals alike, setting a precedent for future industry partnerships.
