An Okada rider has died while his pillion rider remains in critical condition after a cargo truck reportedly ran over their motorcycle at Budumburam near Kasoa.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred on the main highway leading to Winneba after the driver of the cargo truck, with registration number GN-4199-22, attempted to manoeuvre around a parked vehicle and crashed head-on into the motorbike travelling from the opposite direction.
The rider, who suffered a severe head injury, reportedly died at the scene, while the passenger sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
People who witnessed the incident reportedly intercepted the driver of the cargo truck and handed him over to the police. The driver has since been arrested to assist police with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
