Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, the Omanhene of the Oguaa Traditional Area, met with GMTF Administrator Adjoa Obuobia Darko‑Opoku in Cape Coast on Tuesday. The meeting was part of the fund’s second‑day sensitisation tour of the Central Region.
During the courtesy call, the Omanhene praised the GMTF’s work to widen access to specialised healthcare, calling it “one of the most encouraging developments I have heard about in a long time.” He added, “There is hope for the future.”

The chief pledged the backing of traditional authorities to raise awareness of GMTF’s interventions, especially among vulnerable families who may not know where to turn for serious medical conditions. He said, “I will help spread the message,” assuring the administrator that he would support efforts to ensure more people learn about the fund and its services.

Osabarima Kwesi Atta II urged GMTF management not to be distracted by criticism but to remain focused on its mandate to improve lives. He welcomed President John Dramani Mahama’s vision for the fund, noting its potential to relieve financial burdens for families facing serious illnesses.
The endorsement adds a traditional leadership voice to GMTF’s growing stakeholder support as it intensifies its nationwide campaign to deepen public understanding of its mandate and interventions.
