Deputy constituency organiser of the Awutu Senya East branch of the National Democratic Congress, Seth Bismark Bonful, is under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Department of Central East Regional Police Command over an alleged recruitment scam.
According to sources, Bonful recruited party member Nabore Okatakyie Benjamin, who collected GHS 180,000.00 from eight victims with a pledge of offering them recruitment opportunities in various security services and placement in other public institutions. However, he reneged on that pledge, causing agitation among the victims who persistently chased Nabore for their money.
After several months of persuasion, Bonful, who also works as a NADMO staff, failed to pay back the monies, leaving his agent Nabore with no option but to report the matter to the Central East Regional Police Command. Another victim who is said to have paid GHS 20,000.00 directly to the party organiser for a recruitment slot has also filed a separate complaint at the command.
Bonful turned himself in to the police on Friday, October 9, 2026 following a police invite. He has since been granted bail and asked to report to the command on Monday, October 12, 2026 with an option to begin repaying the victims or face prosecution.
